Does Fixed Orthodontic Treatment (Braces) Cause Tooth Decay?

Can Tooth Extraction Occur in Fixed Orthodontic Treatment?
Tooth extraction in orthodontic treatment is a routine procedure that can be applied. If the jaw width is narrow and the teeth are larger in size, tooth extraction is usually applied to align the teeth more appropriately to the jaw. Typically, the first small premolar behind the canine tooth is extracted. If there is a large filled or decayed tooth in the patient's mouth, or if there is a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment, the extraction of these damaged teeth is considered first. Healthy teeth are not extracted.
It doesn't seem logical to me that a healthy tooth would be extracted in orthodontic treatment.
In orthodontic treatment, if tooth extraction is necessary (extraction treatment), damaged teeth, not healthy ones, are primarily extracted. However, if all the teeth are healthy, the extraction of a healthy tooth may be considered. The reason for this situation is that the sum of the tooth sizes exceeds the width of the jaw. This situation is best summarized by the example of a lid being too large for a pot.
